Smart Card

A Smart Card, also called Chip Card or Integrated Circuit Card is a type of pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits which can process data. This card can receive input which is processed by way of the ICC applications and delivered as an output. A smart card is a plastic card embedded with a computer chip that stores and transacts data between users.

Skin Response Meter

This is my circuit Skin Response Meter published in Electronics For You magazine June 2009 issue. This circuit tells you that whether your body is relaxed or not. It exploits the skin’s galvanic property to measure the stress level of the body. Even though the circuit do not measures the stress level precisely, it can be used as an indicator to know the stress level. Many relaxation techniques are now in practice to keep the body in relaxed condition. The circuit described here is useful to monitor the stress level before and after practicing a relaxation exercise. Full circuit in PDF

Galvanic Skin Response

Stress is a physiological condition in which the body becomes excited to face an emergency situation. A number of physiological changes including increase in heart rate, breathing rate etc. occurs during a high stress state. There is a relationship between Stress and the Electrical conductivity of the skin. This is known as Galvanic Skin Response or GSR. Skin conducts electric current like a Resistor used in electronic circuits.

Radiation Sensor Circuit

This is my circuit published in Electronic For You September 2009 issue. This circuit detects the Range of Electronic Smog emanating from the CRT monitor of the Computer. This circuit helps to assess the range of radiation from the monitor through LED indications.Pulsations of PEMR ( Pulsed Electro Magnetic Radiation) can be visualized through the flashing of LEDs.Circuit diagram and description as images.Click on the images to see enlarged view.

ElectroMagnetic Radiation

Electromagnetic waves are emitted by many natural and man made sources and play an important part in our lives. We are warmed by the electromagnetic emissions of the sun and we see using the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that our eyes detect as visible light. When you sit in front of a computer or television, you are being bombarded by harmful waves quietly emanating from it. Even if you turn off the device, your biomagnetic field is still bombarded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the EM radiations from power cables, electric and electronic instruments.

Ultrasound and Insects

Ultrasonic Pest Repellents are used as substitute for Mosquito coils and liquids to avoid inhaling of toxic fumes. It is the Non toxic way to repel pests like mosquitoes. As per scientific information and experimental evidences, the animals respond to Ultrasound and avoid its presence. Small mammals like Dogs, Cats etc. responds to 22-25 kHz ultrasound and Rats to 60-72 kHz. Insects like Mosquitoes, Flies etc. responds to 38-44 kHz.
