This circuit can sense the overload condition and breaks the power if the load increases above the set point. It is an ideal circuit to protect Uninterrupted Power Supply devices like Inverter.

>>Greeting sir!
is it OK if i post here my query regarding transformer-less Power Supply?
i found out that the original post was closed for comments.

just want to ask if a Mylar capacitor with a code 225J 630V
which is rated 2.2uF 630V… can be used as a dropping capacitor?
or which of these capacitor could do the job?
>>474K 630VMP mylar
>>105J 630V mylar
>>2.2uF 20% 275VAC Metal Film
>>3.3uF 250VAC AC cap. UL
We have to make a T-less PS with an output voltage of 65Vdc, max Iout of at least 140mA..
Your response will be of great help… we’re looking forward to it.
Thank you!
Hello
You can use any of the capacitors mentioned as per the current requirements. As a rule, each 1uF capacitance can give 70- 100 mA current depending on the input voltage.225J 600 volt gives around 100-120 mA. If more current is required, use two capacitors in parallel.Take utmost care while working with capacitor power supply to avoid shock hazards.
Good day sir!
Thank you for the response. Thank you also for the suggestions & concerns.

Sir regarding the circuit on the link above may i ask, is it OK if i replace R1 at the neutral with a parallel combination of a capacitor @ resistor with values like that at the phase? what would be the effect to the circuit?
Hello
The circuit in the link is not using capacitor power supply. Two capacitors can be connected side by side in the phase line so its capacitance doubles.
Sir , I’m sorry i pasted the wrong link on my older reply… here’s the right link.
I guess you already figured out what I’m asking.
HmMm.. what about if i connect two capacitors of the same value along with the mains?
one on the phase line and one on the neutral. just like with this one on the link below.. but I’m supposed to use a bridge rectifier.

>>again, Thank you sir!
Hello
The circuit you send provides total isolation from mains by placing capacitors in both phase and neutral so as to give protection, if phase and neutral are reversed. It will not increase the current. You can use this by adding one more capacitor along with the existing capacitors
Okay sir. Thanks a lot! 🙂
you really helped us.
more power.
Very interesting subject, thanks for posting.
