Fun! Light an LED briefly by tapping on a Piezo element used in the buzzer. Enjoy the wonder of lighting the LED by your finger tapping on the Piezo element. Piezo electricity is the natural electricity generating from Piezo ceramic material. Piezo ceramic material like Lead Ziconate Titanate has the property to generate a tiny current when its crystals are mechanically disturbed through pressure or heat. At the same time, if a voltage applied to the Piezo ceramic material, it vibrates. This property is used in Piezo buzzers to generate sound.Let us see the Fun

Not satisfied with IC 555 design. Now I am going to exploit its Control voltage pin 5. This pin is used to give a controlled voltage to control the working of the Flip-Flop inside the IC. But if it is not used, it will be connected to the ground through a 0.01 disc capacitor. I am going to give a minute voltage into this pin. Let us see what happens.

Piezo buzzer is the handy sound generator used in electronic circuits to give audio indication .It is widely used as alarm generator in electronic devices. It is available in various types and size to suit the requirements. A Piezo buzzer has a Piezo disc and an oscillator inside. When the buzzer is powered, the oscillator generates a frequency around 2-4 kHz and the Piezo element vibrates accordingly to produce the sound. An ordinary Piezo buzzer works between 3 – 12 volts DC.

Piezoelectricity is the accumulation of electric charge in some solid materials such as crystals, ceramics, biological materials like bones, proteins DNA etc. The electrical charge accumulates when these materials are subjected to mechanical stress or heat. The word Piezo electricity was derived from Greek terms Piezein meaning squeeze or press and electric. The piezoelectricity is generated as a result of piezoelectric effect. The Piezoelectric effect is the linear electromechanical interaction between the electrical and mechanical states in the crystalline structure of the material.
