How does Pixel creates Image? Fact File 6

In Computer based Image creation, Raster image is used which is the data structure that represents a rectangular grid of Pixels or Points of colour that can be viewed on the Monitor. Raster image is also called as Bitmap which consists of single points called Pixel or Picture element. The number of pixels in the image represents its resolution. The pixel can be considered as the smallest portion of the digital image. It also denotes the unit of measurement of the resolution such as 1200 pixels.Let us see its creation.

Digital TV Technology — 13 Feb 2012

Digital TV Technology

In contrast to the ordinary TV, Digital TV or DTV uses the transmission in Digital format. Digital TV supports various types of picture formats of different combination size and interlacing. The digital format may be High Definition TV (HDTV) or Standard Definition TV (SDTV). HDTV transmission is in p720 (720 Progressive scanning) or i1080 (1080 interlace). Both use the 16:9 Aspect ratios. HDTV format cannot be transmitted through analog channels. SDTV on the other hand uses different formats based on different aspect ratio.

Image Formats

Different forms of file formats are used in computing to create image files. The most common image files are JPEG (Joint Photographic Expert Group), PNG (Portable Network Graphics) GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) etc. These file formats are based on compression algorithm to create realistic scenes and pictures. But based on the file formats the colour quality, transparency and resolution of images vary.
